The largest Western-style encampment in the world will return to the Ben Avery Shooting Facility in Phoenix, Feb. 23 - 28. Winter Range, the Single-Action Shooting Society's (SASS) National Championship of Cowboy Action Shooting, will draw more than 1,100 competitors from 42 states and six foreign countries. Our last trout stocking for central and southern waters this season will take place on the week of March 2-7. Catfish stockings will resume after that during the week of March 16-21. Trout will continue to be stocked into Green Valley Lakes in Payson until early May. Friendship Park agreement finalized! The Department finalized an intergovernment agreement with City of Avondale to add Friendship Park Pond. We'll be working with the city to initiate stockings into Friendship Park pond very soon.... As a special event for ladies who love shotgun sports, the Ben Avery Clay Busters (BACB) will be hosting a pheasant and chukar hunt on Sunday, Feb. 8 in Mayer, Ariz., at the YMCA High Desert Hunt Club.
