The annual Winter HAHWG meeting will be Saturday, Jan. 30. It will be a one-day meeting format as last year, here at the Game and Fish office, at the Archery Center at the north end of the BASF property — outdoors. The Visitor Center at Patagonia Lake State Park has opened for the season and will be open from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. five days a week (Thursdays through Mondays) through March 2016. During the season, the Park offers programming that features boat tours and bird walks open to the public. Bird walks are held on Fridays at 9 a.m. and are held at the Birding Kiosk at the east end of the campground. The Mesquite and Horseshoe campgrounds and Fisherman's Point (also known as Catfish Point) re-opened for the winter early last month. These three areas are near Horseshoe Lake and are popular camping spots for fisherman. These sites accept the Tonto Pass, or annual pass. There are no trash collection services at these sites. Grand Canyon, Ariz. – Starting November 3, Grand Canyon Trail Crew will replace the 25-year old composting toilet facility at Cottonwood Campground. The existing four-stall facility has reached the end of its useful life and the trail crew will remove and replace it with a new four-stall building with solar-powered composting toilets.
