It has been Brad Beauchamp, Laurie's late husband, and Sarah Ross, keeping Fur and Feather alive for the past three years. Fur and Feather Animal Assistance in Pie Town, N.M., is a 90-acre sanctuary for dogs and cats. We are at 8,000 feet in the western mountains, but the climate is reasonably mild. Our facility specializes in lifetime care for animals that, for many reasons, have nowhere else to go. He needs a lot of love and companionship. Puppy came to his previous owner as a feral dog. Puppy wandered up to her house one winter day. His to-be new owner lived in the mountains in a remote area of New Mexico. It was a cold winter day and he just hung around outside the house. She fed him but he would not come close. The Fur & Feather Animal Assistance is planning their autumn open house for Oct. 27, between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Come see all the new animals and the new improvements. FFAA has a new pen, another trailer attached to the Ronda Romper, and they hope to have completed the new heated bunk house.It is getting cold now and the dogs need to come in the house or go into a heated bunk house.
