Lost Our Home Pet Rescue

Lost Our Home Tells This 'Tail' About Parvo Survivors

Can You Help Us?

When we were contacted by our rescue partners in need, we were glad to be able to provide a helping hand with these seven puppies in need of medical care. The puppies came to us with obvious cases of ringworm and kennel cough; however, we quickly realized that we also had something far worse on our hands.

All Seven Had Parvo

Just a few short days after their arrival to our shelter, the puppies rapidly began to deteriorate. This heartwarming rescue experience quickly turned into a nightmare when all seven puppies tested positive for parvo.

Canine parvovirus (parvo) is a highly contagious virus that affects a dog's gastrointestinal tract, causing severe vomiting and diarrhea. Without proper care, it has the potential to be deadly - especially when it comes to fragile, young puppies.

All Seven Survived

To ensure their survival, we immediately provided everything that these puppies needed including hospitalization, IV fluids, medications, and round-the-clock care. In total, we accumulated $7,000 in medical expenses - but it is with full hearts that we can say all seven of these precious puppies survived.

Unexpected Medical Bills

Now that we have happy and healthy puppies on our hands, we desperately need help to recover the unexpected medical bills that we have incurred for them. Any donations towards their care would be greatly appreciated. Without your help, we would not be able to save puppies like these or the many other pets in need.

Times When LOH Steps Up To Help

When people are facing times of crisis that jeopardize their ability to care and provide for their pets, we are here to help.

Domestic Violence

Domestic violence affects both people and their pets and prompts many victims to remain in abusive situations for fear of having nowhere to escape to with their pet. Lost Our Home is committed to changing that uncertainty into assurance through our life-saving partnership with the largest domestic violence shelter in Arizona.

Homelessness

Homeless individuals often rely on their pets for comfort and companionship. To remain together, many choose to forgo shelters or job training opportunities for fear of being separated from their companions. Lost Our Home makes it possible for people to receive job training without leaving their pets behind.

Medical Emergencies

Having no one to care for a precious pet when unexpected medical emergencies, surgeries or illness force people and their pets apart, can leave many uncertain of how to not only care for themselves, but for their pet as well. Lost Our Home supports families suffering from these medical emergencies.

Financial Hardship

Financial hardships wreak havoc on people's lives and the wellbeing of their pets. Eviction, foreclosure, fires, floods - all these force people and pets into unknown territory. We can help in this period of uncertainty by caring for pets and assuring they are in good hands -easing some of the pressure on pet owners.
