Times Spent Outdoors: Priceless!

Welcome To The Arizona Chapter Leukemia Cup Regatta - 'First In The Nation'

Arizona Yacht Club has many racing opportunities.

For the past 15 years, the Arizona Yacht Club (AYC) and the Arizona Chapter of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) have opened the national Leukemia Cup Regatta calendar on the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday weekend, pairing it with the AYC's long-running Birthday Regatta.

The 2017, the AYC's 16th Regatta will be held on President's Day weekend -February 17-19. By taking to the waters of Lake Pleasant, Regatta sailors have raised more than $580,000 to fight blood cancers.

Join us for the 2017 Arizona Leukemia Cup.  Winter sailing in Arizona is pure magic! Fleets include monohulls, multihulls and even SUP racing. The 2017 AYC Leukemia Cup Regatta is not just an event, it's a destination.  Funds generated from the event help LLS fulfill its mission to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. Fundraising participants can win great prizes, including the opportunity to sail with Gary Jobson!

Resources

World Sailing (formerly ISAF) has issued the 2017-2021 Racing Rules of Sailing.  Generally the rule changes are small this time, altering some wording but otherwise keeping the game substantially the same.

AYC & ASF Boats: To drive an AYC-owned boat at Lake Pleasant you must be 18 or older and hold certification for safe powerboat operation from US Sailing. Boats at Tempe Town Lake are owned by the Arizona Sailing Foundation (ASF) and drivers of those boats must be approved by the City of Tempe.

The approved TTL boat drivers include US Sailing-certified powerboat operators, US Sailing-certified Small Boat Instructors, and anyone who has been checked out and approved by the City of Tempe

New To Racing? Want To Try It?

Consider being crew, taking our introductory class, or plunge in using your own boat or an adopted oat.  The procedures are a little different at each lake. Do you have a cruising boat and consider yourself a cruiser? Consider racing your cruising boat.
