Voting

The Irony Of It All

Series: Veterans In The News | Story 65

I keep receiving unsolicited information telling me about letting illegals vote. Has this country and "We The People" really become this jaded by our politicians that we will even consider letting this happen?

There are so many things wrong with this concept that it is hard to find a starting point.

Our Job is not to convince those who "don't know" to change their minds. Our job is to convince those who "do know" to work harder to save our country, and all of the country's that rely on us, to maintain peace in the world. You know in which category you are.

This is one of the first things that comes to my mind. Being a veteran, and knowing many veterans, it is hard to wrap my head around the thought that when so many fought and died to preserve our freedom and our constitution that "We The People" are willing to give our freedom and liberty up so easily.

What is happening is the result of quite a few generations of people from outside our country and people from within our government influencing our population and pushing them into believing that socialism is the way to go. Quite simply socialism is not, and will never be, a good way to govern.

This effort to overtake our government really picked up steam under two political "regimes". Obama and Biden. These two, and whoever was pulling their strings, had obviously come to the conclusion that "We The People" would now allow anything to happen. We had not put a stop to riots in all of our major cities, to police officers being attacked with no fear of reprisal, with illegals being allowed into our country with help from our government, and a whole host of other atrocities. You notice I referred to these political efforts as Regimes. Regimes are generally associated with "third world countries". These are not legitimate governments and definitely do not have "We The People's" best interest at heart.

Speaking of veterans, do you realize how may of those veterans who fought and died to defend your freedom were allowed at that time to fight and die for you, but they were not allowed to vote. They were too young to vote. Ironic isn't it that they were allowed to die for you but not to vote for who was governing them.
