Celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the Painted Desert Inn

PETRIFIED FOREST, Ariz. – Join the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Painted Desert Inn! In 1924, Herbert Lore registered his newly constructed business with the Land Office, fulfilling his duties under the Homesteading Act of 1862. On June 21, 22, and 23, there will be treats and activities offered at the inn:

• Meet the Harvey Girls on June 22!

• Join a ranger guided tour of the inn.

• Chat with Cultural Demonstrators from various Tribes affiliated with the park and purchase their handmade items.

• Explore rooms opened just for the anniversary!

• Check out a display with historic images of the inn over the years.

• Create punched "tin" décor inspired by the historic tin fixtures as well as other take away crafts.

• Collect your special 100th anniversary Painted Desert Inn passport cancellation stamp and limited edition stickers.
