Tonto National Forest Ranger District And Forest Supervisor Offices Will Be Closed For The July 4

Normal Operating Hours WillRresume On Wednesday July 5

 


Forest officials say they expect large numbers of visitors to the Tonto's popular campgrounds and picnic areas over the weekend preceding July 4. The following information will help visitors have a safe and enjoyable experience.

Fireworks or other pyrotechnic devices are prohibited on the Tonto National Forest. Also currently prohibited are:

* Smoking, except within an enclosed vehicle or building. (Smoking is prohibited in all federal buildings)

* Building, maintaining, attending, or using a fire, campfire, or wood or charcoal burning stove

* Using an explosive

* Operating or using any equipment powered by an internal combustion engine, except motor vehicles

* Welding, or operating acetylene or other torch with open flame.

* Discharging a firearm, except while engaged in a lawful hunt pursuant to state, federal, or tribal law and regulations.
