Here's A Safer Power Connection For Today's Modern RV

January 1, 2017

To say that the design of the traditional twist-type power cord connector is old is an understatement. When it was invented back in the 1930s, RVers were known as Tin Can Tourists. Still in use today and barely changed, these devices are hazardous, out of date and a common cause of electrical fires. SmartPlug Systems has a better, safer solution for today's modern motorcoach and trailer owner.

The innovative SmartPlug is a revolutionary waterproof inlet and connector with 20 times the metal contact than traditional twist-type plugs. This maximizes the electrical transfer, and reduces the arcing, resistance and resultant overheating that leads to fire.

Easier to use than traditional twist-type connections, the SmartPlug sleeve design pushes straight in and locks in places with two levers, all with one hand. Its asymmetrical design makes it simple to connect the power, even in the dead of night.

The SmartPlug has been thoroughly tested by independent laboratories. It's Intertek ETL listed and the only shore power plug to be UL certified. IMANNA proved it waterproof by subjecting it to 30 grueling days of salt fog.

RV owners across the US and Canada have placed their trust in the SmartPlug. It's simple and quick to install using common household tools.

The inlet is available in four versions: white, grey and black polymer, and stainless steel. It's available in 30A/125V or 50A 125/250V.
