Times Spent Outdoors: Priceless!
After months of planning and development, Maricopa County's Parks and Recreation Department has unveiled a fresh, new Web site.
"We're very excited about our new look," said R.J. Cardin, Maricopa County Parks and Recreation director. While the Department's former site was functional, the tools being used were outdated, which left the Department unable to accommodate visitors coming to the site on mobile devices.
The new visually stimulating Web site, designed by Americaneagle.com, features a completely overhauled navigational structure, and provides visitors with easy access to a wide variety of park services and resources. Visitors can book a campsite, download a trail map, and discover things to do in the parks directly from the home page.
The Department's ever-popular interpretive programs may now be exported directly onto Outlook calendars while site-wide search and quick links tools offer visitors the option of finding exactly what they are looking for in moments.
In addition, Search Engine Optimization (SEO) tools such as improved meta descriptions and page titles have been added to make it easier for park visitors to pinpoint Maricopa County Park programs, services and parks in their search results.
"We wanted a responsive design that would showcase Maricopa County's beautiful regional park system while providing park visitors a user-friendly experience. With this new Content Management System (CMS), I believe we've accomplished that goal," added Cardin.
The Department's Web site was last updated in 2004. To take a tour of the new website and learn more Maricopa County's regional parks, visit http://www.maricopacountyparks.net.
