McMurdo Search & Rescue Products To Be Featured At The 2015 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show

November 1, 2015

Lanham, Maryland – October 27, 2015 – McMurdo search and rescue products – personal AIS MOB beacons, personal locator beacons and EPIRBs – will be featured by Lifeline Inflatable Services in Accessories Tent booth 36 at the Bahia Mar Yachting Center during the 2015 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, November 5-9.

McMurdo Smartfind S20 Personal AIS MOB Beacon

The McMurdo Smartfind S20 is a personal AIS MOB device worn on a lifejacket and activated by sliding off the safety tab and lifting an arming cap to deploy the antenna.

The compact, lightweight unit is an effective aid to recovering crew and passengers who have fallen overboard by sending alert messages, GPS position and a special identity code directly to AIS receivers within approximately a four mile radius. A flashing LED light aids location at night.

A built-in high precision GPS receiver - which updates every 60 seconds – provides precise location, distance and bearing data. Onboard crew members (and nearby AIS-enabled receivers) receive all the information they need to locate the position of the person in difficulty, enabling a speedy recovery. The S20 will transmit continuously for a minimum of 24 hours and has a seven year battery storage life. It is made of ultra durable ABS and waterproof to five meters.

McMurdo Fast Find 220 Personal Locator Beacon

The compact, lightweight, McMurdo Fast Find 220 Personal Locator Beacon is designed to be carried with you wherever you go. Built-in GPS pinpoints your exact location and the battery guarantees a minimum of 24 hours operation. A bright LED SOS light helps rescuers spot you quickly in the water on approach.

Quick and easy to activate, with a safe stow antenna which automatically deploys when the unit is activated. Waterproof to a depth of 10 meters. Supplied with a flotation pouch, for easy retrieval. No service subscription needed.

McMurdo Smartfind Plus G5 GPS EPIRB

The compact McMurdo Smartfind Plus G5 GPS EPIRB features a high performance, multi-channel GPS which brings the location accuracy down to typically less than 62 meters, greatly increasing the chances of rescue in an emergency situation. The battery offers a minimum of 48 hours of operation and has a six-year life.

When offered through marine retailers, the G5 GPS EPIRB is supplied with a manual release bracket. A SOLAS approved automatic housing is also available.
