Yuma Dining

Gourmet Spread Under She Stars Lets You Dine Like A Sultan

February 15, 2015

YUMA, ARIZONA - Think that enjoying a multi-course gourmet meal under the stars in a date grove is a treat only available to pashas and potentates? Think again - and enjoy an unforgettable 'Date Night' in Yuma, the world's largest producer of Medjool dates.

Set for Friday (Jan. 16), Feb. 13 and March 13, these special dinners are being presented by Yuma Visitors Bureau to showcase both Yuma's delightful desert weather and the culinary versatility of one of its more unique crops.

"There's a lot more to dates than just milkshakes," said Linda Morgan, YVB executive director. "This is a great way to feature a local product so good that even people in the Middle East import dates from Yuma."

The inclusive price of $65 per person includes transportation to a real producing date grove, a multi-course gourmet meal prepared by Cordon Bleu-trained Chef Alex Trujillo, entertainment and a special presentation by a date grower, and even samples of beer and wine made from dates (a cash bar is also available on site).

To ensure a quality dining experience, tickets are limited and reservations are required.

Each dinner will feature a unique theme along with the only-in-Yuma setting.

A few seats remain for Friday's dinner, as well as for the February and March dates. Tickets for Date Night are available at YVB's Visitor Information Center, 201 N. 4th Ave., or call 800-293-0071 or 928-783-0071.
