Welcoming the wonderful outdoor activities that come with spring in the Southwest (the first day of spring is March 20) will be one of Arizona's favorite annual events: the Arizona Game & Fish Department's Outdoor Expo.

A SPRING THING -- How appropriate that just a week after the start of spring (March 20) the Arizona Game & Fish Department's Outdoor Expo gets underway. This ever-popular event features a plethora of outdoor activities that enthusiasts in the Southwest can enjoy this season and beyond.

The objective of this popular outdoor event is to inform, educate, train and introduce the public through activities, demonstrations and exhibits of hunting, fishing, recreational shooting, archery, wildlife watching, off-highway vehicle and watercraft recreation, wildlife conservation, wildlife education, camping, trapping and other related outdoor activities that are consistent with the Department's mission, policies and positions.

Many Activities Featured

The annual Expo showcases wildlife-related and outdoor recreation activities, including wildlife viewing, fishing, hunting, archery, shooting sports, camping, off-highway vehicle recreation, and boating recreation. Many activities are kid-friendly.

In addition to the hands-on activities, more than 170 exhibitors were on hand in 2014, including sportsmen's and conservation organizations, government agencies, and commercial vendors of outdoor products and services. At the 2014 event, 41,000 attended the weekend festivities.
