Outfits Vessel Used On "Deadiest Catch"

Art Onweller, President of Foothills Products, Inc. in Evergreen, Colorado, just announced that the company has recently received an order for its OFFBoard® Rat Guards to be used on the 418-feet U.S. Coast Guard Cutter "Waesche," based in San Diego. The cutter, the second of eight new generation security protection vehicles to join the Coast Guard, was shown assisting a rescue on a recent episode of the "Deadliest Catch" television show.

Foothills Products, Inc. has previously outfitted numerous U.S. Coast Guard ships, tugs, cutters, barques, Naval ships (including the U.S.S. Midway), and N.O.A.A. (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association) research vessels with its 15-inch and 17-inch OFFBoard® Rat Guards. The guards, which also come in a 10-inch size, are frequently used by boat and houseboat owners on waterways across the country, including Lake Mead, Lake Powell and Lake Cumberland, as well as by owners and operators of ocean-faring yachts.

OFFBoard® Rat Guards stop vermin (rats, mice, iguanas, etc.) from traversing mooring lines by presenting a uniform barrier. The flat product, which will float if it is dropped in the water, is made of polypropylene with stainless steel components, including a spring door that opens and closes effortlessly making installation and removal easy. Light weight for easy storage and handling, the ½-inch to 2.5-inches shield opening inserts support five different mooring line sizes and do not damage mooring lines. Grips stay perpendicular to the line, and the guard stays closed and in place, even when the line is in the water.

For additional information or to purchase OFFBoard® Rat Guards online, contact Foothills Products, Inc. at its web site (www.foothillsproducts.com). Direct telephone inquiries to 303-674-9559.
