Lake Havasu Boat Show To Deliver More Exhibitors, Attractions Than Ever

March 15, 2014

Bob Brown, Media Direction

Lake Havasu Welcome

The count-down to the 23rd Annual Lake Havasu Boat Show, presented by the Lake Havasu Marine Association, has begun. This year, the Lake Havasu Boat Show is one week earlier than usual, starting on Friday, April 11 and running through Sunday, April 13 at LakeHavasu State Park, Windsor 4 on London Bridge Road.

Enthusiasm For Exhibitors

"We needed to adjust the dates for the 2014 event since Easter weekend comes late this year," commented show organizer, Bob Brown. "But the minor date change certainly hasn't dulled the enthusiasm for boat show exhibitors.

"Vendor sign-ups are running well ahead of last year and we had a record number of exhibitors in 2013. We'll definitely fill all available space with at least fifty or more different brands of boats ranging from pontoons and family runabouts to fishing boats, wakeboard/ski boats and the largest selection of performance sportboats west of Miami. If you're interested in seeing the newest the boating industry has to offer, Lake Havasu Boat Show in April is the place to do it."

Cars, Water Skis, And Chili

But more exhibitors and new boat models aren't the only things that Lake Havasu Boat Show attendees have to look forward to on April 11-13. In addition to the return of the Legends by the Lake Car Show and NWSRA-sanctioned water ski races on Saturday and Sunday, the boat show also plays host to the 2nd Annual International Chili Society chili cook-off competition on Saturday open to all chefs.

The chili and salsa contest, with proceeds going to benefit the Lake Havasu High School Athletic Booster Club, is offering over $2,500 in cash prizes to the various winners in each category. Best of all, attendees have the opportunity to sample all the recipes by purchasing a $5 tasting kit while at the boat show." Entry forms for the chili and salsa competition are available online at the boat show website, http://www.lakehavasuboatshow.com.

A Wow: The WaterCar

If you're a recent viewer of ABC TV's hit prime time show, The Bachelor, you might have caught the WaterCar in action. Well, the WaterCar will also be in action at the Havasu Boat Show too with several of its models. After nearly a decade in development, the WaterCar is now in full production at its Fountain Valley, California factory.

It recently made headlines in the Orange County Register newspaper after becoming the first amphibious vehicle to successfully make a non-stop open ocean crossing from Newport Beach to Avalon Harbor on Catalina Island, a distance of approximately 31 miles in a little over one hour.

Miss Geico To Appear

Joy Riding In The WaterCar

For fans of offshore power boat racing, don't miss the special appearance of Miss Geico, the reigning 2013 offshore world champion. This will be the only opportunity in 2014 to see this remarkable 150+ mph race boat in person in the Southwest before it begins defense of its world title for the coming season.
