Sign Up Now For The November Hunter Education Class In Payson

October 15, 2013

Don’t miss this opportunity to sign up for the Arizona Game and Fish Department’s Hunter Education class in Payson. The two-day class will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, November 16 and 17, at the Payson American Legion, 709 AZ-260, just east of the Giant Gas Station. Field day will be held on Sunday at the Jim Jones Shooting Range.

To register, email jtnash@npgcable.com or call (928) 478-2014. Registration will be available at the door on November 16. Fall hunter educations tend to fill up quickly, so early registration is recommended. There is no cost to attend and all class materials will be provided.

Adults are not required to take hunter education classes, but children younger than 14 years of age must have a valid hunter education certification card from Arizona Game and Fish Department to hunt big game.

Hunter education courses are also open to adults. These classes are ideal for those who are new to hunting and great refresher programs for experienced hunters. Ethics, fair chase, hunting laws, firearm safety, wildlife identification, game care, and first-aid and survival basics are just some of the topics covered in the hunter education class.
