Sailing Is What They Do Best At ASF

Ahoy, Sailors:

August 15, 2013

One of the best decisions I ever made was to take the US Sailing Instructor class. Now you can make that same decision to improve your sailing and prepare to help teach others about this great sport.

Sign up for classes being offered the first two weekends of January 2014. Registration is open now. You'll find our class on the bottom of the calendar list at http://arizonayachtclub.org/education.

When you click on the "enroll now" button, you'll be taken to a scary page of pre-requisites and qualifications and then to enrollment.

Please don't let the long list scare you away; it's easier than it sounds. Check with me if you have questions about it.

The Arizona Sailing Foundation (ASF) needs certified instructors and we'll help you through the class and cover half the tuition if you help teach one of our classes.

Thanks!

Other Classes

Or, if you are interested in honing your skills, you may now sign up for the fall Arizona Sailing Foundation classes, including —

• Beginning Sailing for Adults

• Junior Sailing - Opti I & II

Mike Ferring

• Sailing Skills Development - adult advanced class for graduates of the beginning sailing classes

• And a new class, Junior Performance Sailing. We're having trouble posting to the AYC website right now, but when that's sorted out, we'll have an explanation of this exciting, new class for juniors, to be sailed in the O'Pen Bic performance boat.

• In November, we'll present Introduction to Sailboat Racing, but you can sign up for the class right now.

Rob Gibbs is planning a Powerboat Safety class for the end of August. If you're interested, please contact him at robdasailor@gmail.com.

Pass the word and recruit friends, neighbors and your own kids so they can share our excitement in sailing!
