Tractors Are Part Of The Experience

For Many Tourists, Their Photo Memory of Page, AZ, will be a Tractor

About 7 years ago, tractors began appearing around Big Lake Trading Post. This has become the home site of the Page Antique Tractor and Machinery Club's growing collection of antique farm and construction equipment. Began by Eugene Tucker and Jim Kitson with support from Dane Partridge, owner/manager of Big Lake Trading Post it has become a favorite spot, especially for foreign tourists, to take photos.

Each year some of the tractors are on display at the Elks Lodge for the annual Rally for Life. This event will be held this year on June 1 and the tractors will be there. They are also seen in Page Parades, especially the winter Parade of Lights and on the 4th of July. After the 4th of July parade they return to Big Lake Trading Post for an annual tractor pull from noon to 4pm.

The first weekend in October (4th - 6th) the tractor club holds it's annual event. At this event besides a tractor pull and ride one can also find many exhibits and demonstrations of old iron, engines, saws and other equipment as well as black smithing. The event runs from 9am to 4pm daily.

This year to help promote their event and club activities PAT&MC will be displaying a tractor up in Page, in front of Big John's BBQ. During May the tractor on display was an Allis Chalmers WD45. This tractor was restored by Richard Christ and Jim Kitson and belongs to Jim Cady. We will be putting a different tractor up in June, and each month throughout the summer. Having a tractor at their BBQ has been good for business as many photos are takem by their guests from all over the world. Just some more tractor photo memories of Page.
