Times Spent Outdoors: Priceless!
Lake Havasu Boat Show Ready To Launch
The 22nd Annual Lake Havasu Boat Show, sponsored by Teague Custom Marine, is only a few days away, opening on Friday, April 19 for a three-day run at Lake Havasu State Park, Windsor 4 on London Bridge Road.
This year’s boat show is bigger than ever with hundreds of boats ranging from everything from affordable family runabouts and pontoons to exotic high-performance sportboats and the latest in personal watercraft.
For those looking forward to attending the boat show, plan on making a full day of it because there will be plenty to do and see for the entire family. In addition to the boats and the many marine accessory exhibits, there are also a “Legends by the Lake” car show, thrilling high-speed water ski racing and an ICS chili cook-off and salsa challenge on the agenda for Saturday and Sunday.
Jacket Swap
Boaters may also want to take advantage of a special one-day (Saturday, April 20) life-jacket swap program generously provided by the Department of Arizona Game and Fish. Just bring your old/used life jacket to the boat show on Saturday and exchange it for a new one at no charge. The life jacket swap begins at 10 a.m. at the AZ Game and Fish booth and will continue until the supply is gone.
If you happen to be a fan of A&E Network’s hit reality TV series, Barter Kings, stars of the show, Steve McHugh and Antonio Palazzola, will be making a personal appearance at the boat show on Saturday from noon to 2 p.m. to meet and greet fans. This is your chance to get a free autograph and take a photo or two. New episodes of Barter Kings will begin airing later this summer.
Besides Boats
Because Lake Havasu City is known as a mecca for beautifully restored hot rods, local residents of Lake Havasu City are encouraged to participate at this year’s “Legends by the Lake” car show.
“We still have room to accommodate some more cars,” commented event chairman, John View of the London Bridge Yacht Club. “The registration fee is just $35.00 per car which includes a free event T-shirt, dash plaque and a chance to win some great raffle prizes. Our goal is to make this another outstanding Lake Havasu tradition. More information about both the boat and car show and how to participate is available online at http://www.lakehavasuboatshow.com.
Boat show hours are Friday, April 19 from noon to 6 p.m .; Saturday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission is $3.00 for adults and kids 10 and under are free. Parking is also free.
