The new Arizona Game and Fish Department book, An Introduction to Hunting Arizona’s Small Game, is now available for sale at Game and Fish offices or by downloading an order form at http://www.azgfd.gov/publications.

This 198-page, 6x9” guide is an indispensable resource for new or experienced hunters. It provides loads of information and expert tips, including —

• Where and how to hunt small game birds, squirrels, rabbits, ducks and geese in Arizona,

• Detailed descriptions of small game animals and specialized information about their behavior and habits,

• Which firearms and other gear work best for the specific field conditions you’ll encounter while pursuing each species, and

• How to prepare and cook your small game harvest, with illustrations and recipes.

The book contains full-color photographs, species distribution maps and a glossary, as well as a table of contents, bibliography and index.

Author Randall D. Babb is a hunter, biologist and naturalist who grew up hunting and fishing in Arizona. He is the regional information and education program manager in Region 6 of the Arizona Game and Fish Department.

The purchase price is $16.95. There is a 40 percent discount for orders of five or more.
