Fall Draw Had Over 133,000 Applicants

Leftover permits have been available on first-come, first-served basis.

The wait is over — the drawing results for Arizona’s fall deer, turkey, javelina, bighorn sheep, buffalo and pheasant hunts are now available.

You can visit http://www.azgfd.gov/draw and click on the link to the draw results page. Applicants can also find out if they were drawn by calling (602) 942-3000 and selecting option two. Due to heavy call volume initially, you might get a busy signal. If so, you might want to try again later.

There were more than 133,000 applicants for this year’s fall draw.

Hunt permit-tags for successful applicants were mailed by Aug. 10. Refunds will be mailed out by Aug. 20.

There were about 5,389 leftover hunt-permit tags remaining. There are two methods to obtain a leftover tag. Applications have been accepted by mail since July 30. And, as of Aug. 6 hunters have been able to purchase a leftover tag in person with an application at any of the seven Arizona Game and Fish Department offices.

For those who qualify, there are military hunts available for Fort Huachuca. Call (520) 533-7083 or (520) 533-8763 for additional information.

For a listing of leftover permits, the 2012-13 Arizona Hunting and Trapping Regulations, and other drawing-related information, visit http://www.azgfd.gov/draw.
