AYC Activities Sail Ahead To End Summer, Start Fall

Note: Our favorite Olympian, Anna Tunnicliffe did not medal in the 2012 Olympics. Sadly, her team was eliminated in the quarter finals of the medal round by the Finns, a surprising outcome given the high expectations for her heading into the competition and with all of us AYC members cheering her on.

Here's what's upcoming for your Arizona Yacht Club:

• The Heat Stroke series at Tempe Town Lake is nearly complete. A small but hearty bunch of sailors will compete again on Sunday, Aug. 19 at 4 p.m.

• For women sailors: A bunch of women planning a "happy hour" at Brenda Shears' house on Thursday, Aug. 23. Just for fun. Interested? Contact Brenda at shears@asu.edu. We're also pitching in to help the Lake Pleasant Sailing Club with the very-successful Ladies' Day at the Lake
