Payson Book Festival - Cool Off And Read

This is a community celebration of books for all ages and is in the cool pines.

When you visit Payson to cool off this summer, there's a great event to add to your excursion: The Payson Book Festival, July 22 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Mazatzal Hotel and Casino.

Free to the public, this event promotes literacy and showcases local and Arizona authors representing many genres of fiction and non-fiction. Here you can meet 70 authors, enjoy book signings and presentations. Kids can meet "Story Monster" and enjoy story time, including The Cat in the Hat.

Food from local vendors will be available on site, and there are door prizes and free entertainment.

The Payson Book Festival has been awarded a mini-grant from Arizona Humanities, and the Festival proceeds help fund high-school scholarship.

Among others, marquee authors presenting will be Stella Pope Duarte, Jan Cleere, Roger Naylorm Buckshot, Dot and Marshall Trimbell.
