Welcome 2017! South Florida Fishing Style!

Miami - Saltwater Fishing Report

January 1, 2017

The fishing in South Florida for me, my clients and Get Em Sportfishing Charters http://www.getemsportfishing.com/ during 2016 was great! The Get Em for those of you that didn't know is the name of my 22' 2014 Pathfinder Tournament Edition Bay Boat.

During 2016 the Get Em logged more and bigger catches of snook locally and in Flamingo then I have had in recent memory. Catching a snook in North Bay during the day can be a challenge but this past year at times the fish were thick, hungry and large. Hopefully 2017 will be just as good if not better.

I want to take a moment to Thank every single fishermen that stepped aboard the Get Em for giving me a chance to put them on that special fish of a lifetime. I hope you enjoyed your day with me, my boat and the areas that we fished.

I also want to thank all of my special sponsors that help keep me in the fish, my clients hooked up to the fish and for getting me to the boat ramps that I use, to the spots that the fish are holding and back to the boat ramp in one piece. None of this would be possible without your great products.

My Sponsors:

Yamaha, Bob Hewes Boats, Maverick, Minn Kota Ulterra, Talon. Humminbird, Daiwa, General Motors & Chevrolet, Rapala, Suffix, , Mustad, Pure Fishing, Gulp, Berkley, Precision Tackle, Cajun Thunders, Hookup Lures, Hydro Glow Lights, Saltwater Assassins, Key Largo Rods, Lee Fisher Cast Nets, Smartshield, Master Repair in Stuart Florida, Salt Life Sunglasses, Stow Master Nets, Columbia Sports Wear, Tempress Seating, Aluminum Fabricating Inc. Woody Wax, SoftScience shoes. Aquatic Nutrition Inc.

Fishing in sunny South Florida has been good despite the windy weather conditions 2017 has provided us with so far. North Bay my number 1 location to fish has lots of wind protected areas to fish and has had a lot of sea trout, some Spanish mackerel, juvenile kingfish, bluefish, ladyfish, small barracudas, snook, small tarpon and jack crevalles that have provided us with lots of action. In North Bay we have been targeting the fish with live baits free lined or fished from under a Cajun Thunder float and with Rapala X Raps and Hookup lure jig heads tipped with a Gulp bait.
