Fall In Flagstaff - Vets Will Be Honored, Route 66 Celebrated

Fall has officially arrived and the crisp, clean mountain air and colors are here to accentuate it. There is a lot happening in terms of tourism in Flagstaff and the Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) team is hard at work.

To name a few items of interest:

We are all looking forward to the 2016 NAU Homecoming festivities;

The team is working hard on preparing for and organizing a major FY17 initiative of producing a virtual tour of Flagstaff and the surrounding area;

We are launching a meetings-incentive program called "It pays to meet in Flagstaff";

A new creative is being produced to showcase Flagstaff as Northern Arizona's "Hub and Spoke" destination, and,

Northern Arizona University's Skydome, Flagstaff

We are looking forward to celebrating the 90th Anniversary of the Mother Road, between 1 - 6 p.m., Nov. 11.

In collaboration with Veterans Day, the Route 66 90th Anniversary will be celebrated in the parking lots of Starlite Lanes and Museum Club. The family friendly event will begin at 1 p.m. with a color-guard dedication honoring our veterans followed by afternoon activities including a bounce house, live entertainment, themed food, bowling and more.

November is earmarked as a month of giving, and this event will support veteran organizations Military Order of the Purple Heart and Bowling for Vets.
