Campout Program Opens Fall Registration

September 1, 2015

Have you ever wanted to bring your family camping but weren't sure where to start? The Arizona Family Campout Program is a unique program designed for families who have little or no experience camping.

During an activity-filled weekend, families will be introduced to new adventures, learning to camp at one of their favorite State Parks, inspiring them to continue to explore the great outdoors.

Let our trained camp coordinators introduce your family to new outdoor adventures, while you create a family tradition that you'll cherish for a lifetime! Campers will learn how to set up a tent, build a fire and be introduced to outdoor cooking while enjoying a variety of activities like fishing and archery.

Additional activities will include mountain biking, hiking, geocaching, animal demonstrations, campfire stories, birding, and more. Families will also get to work on a service project (activities vary by park).

Registration is now open for fall and spring sessions at AZStateParks.com/Family. Program fee is $70 for up to a family of four, and additional family members are only $5 each. (Sorry, children five years and younger or pets cannot attend this program.)

Registration is limited and is first-come, first-served. For more information including dates and locations, visit AZStateParks.com/Family.

For information about all 28 Arizona State Parks, the Trails and Off-Highway Vehicle Programs and State Historic Preservation Office call (602) 542-4174 (outside of the Phoenix metro area call toll-free (800) 285-3703). Campsite reservations can be made online at AZStateParks.com or by calling the Reservation Call Center at (520) 586-2283. Open seven days a week, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. MST.
