Outdoors Expo Coming To Scottsdale's WestWorld

Gear, clinics, interactive activities on tap for weekend

PHOENIX – The outdoors is moving indoors for this weekend's "Arizona Get Outdoors Expo" at WestWorld of Scottsdale.

The inaugural three-day event, in association with the Arizona Game and Fish Department, will feature plenty of family fun and adventure inside the more than 300,000-square-feet of air-conditioned space at the Tony Nelssen Equestrian Center, 16601 N. Pima Road, in Scottsdale. On display will be the newest in hunting, fishing and camping equipment and technologies, outdoor education and safety clinics, child-friendly interactive stations, wild game culinary demonstrations and more.

"Outdoor lovers can learn and explore and have a great time doing it," said Bill Andres, information branch chief for Game and Fish. "Outdoor enthusiasts can sign up for our Customer Portal, join our new 'I Support Wildlife' program, and even buy hunting and fishing licenses!"

Other attractions include:

3D archery range

Mutton-busting for children

Two catch-and-release fishing ponds

"Ultimate Air Dogs" dock-jumping demonstration

Recreational vehicle and boat exhibits

The expo will be Friday (2-8 p.m.), Saturday (10 a.m.-6 p.m.) and Sunday (Noon-4 p.m.). General admission is $12 online in advance, children 10 and under are free. Military members and first responders are free with valid identification.
