Clouds Over White Tank Mountain Regional Park

The time of year when locals and snowbirds alike pack-up their RV's and head out to explore new and familiar territories has arrived! This year, however, those who set their sights on White Tank Mountain Regional Park will be pleasantly surprised by the addition of several new services.

"During the slower season, the park shut down the Family Campground so they could install electrical hook-ups, run waterlines and level the campsites. The work has been completed, and the sites are once again available for reservations," said Maricopa County Board of Supervisor Clint Hickman, District 4.

"We're pleased to be able to offer the new services to our visitors and believe they will help to enhance their stay at the park," added R.J. Cardin, Maricopa County Parks and Recreation Department director. "In addition to these improvements, we're also in the process of finalizing plans for the installation of an RV Dump Station at the park for camper and recreational vehicle use."

The campsites feature a large parking area to accommodate up to a 45 ft. RV, water and electrical hook-ups (50 amp. pedestals), a picnic table, barbecue grill and a fire ring. Sites vary in dimension. Visitors will also find a family friendly play area at the campground as well as restrooms that offer flush toilets and showers.

All campsites may be reserved online at http://maricopacountyparks.org. "The reservation system includes photos of the pads, site dimensions and a level rating," said Cardin. There is a $25 per night fee for each site.

The campsite project scope of work included the installation of four new electrical service entrance stations with pads, APS transformer pads, 40 campsite pedestals and installation, trenching, conduit work. Total costs for the project were approximately $227,841.

White Tank Mountain Regional Park is located at 20304 W. White Tank Mountain Road in Waddell. For additional information about the park, visit http://www.maricopa.gov/parks/white_tank.
