Catalina State Park Debuts First Saturdays Evening

Concert Series from August through October

 


(Phoenix, Arizona - July 26, 2013) - Catalina State Park debuts the first concert series at the park on the first Saturday of the month from August through October 2013. Visitors will enjoy an evening concert amid the beautiful landscapes of Catalina State Park.

The concerts will be held at the main trailhead at Catalina State Park. Guests should bring a chair, food and water while listening to these Arizona artists: August 3, "The Collaborative Juices" will perform at 6 p.m .; September 7, the "Sun City Strummers" will perform at 5:30 p.m .; and October 5, the "Tucson Jazz Institute Blue Note Combo" will perform at 5:30 p.m. The Friends of Catalina State Park will provide FREE popcorn during the concerts. The concerts could be canceled if severe weather occurs.

Catalina State Park's regular Park Entrance Fee of $7 per vehicle will be charged for this event. Primitive to full hookup camping sites are available at a fee of $15 to $25 depending on the type of camping site needed. Catalina State Park is located on State Highway 77 (Oracle Road) at mile marker 81, just nine miles north of Tucson and six miles north of Ina Road.

The Friends of Catalina State Park (FOCSP) is a 501(c)(3) organization that is registered in the state of Arizona. Its mission is to solicit funds and mobilize public support for projects and activities at Catalina State Park.
